Future Vision
Life is not just about battling pain, fighting for your rights and paying the bills. We’ve all been put on this Earth to experience joy and find meaning in our lives. That meaning comes through family, through love in all it’s different forms, through having purpose and getting to experience growth and expansion. Work should be joyful and the balance between work and the chance to do other things such as travel or engage in hobbies are all things we should think of as within our reach.
Often when we experience the feeling of being stuck, or just battling problems all of the time, it can feel like we are losing our motivation, our happiness, or energy to move forward. At times like this, what we need is a compelling vision of our future. What does our heart truly desire for our future? What kind of work would we like to be doing? What are our highest values?
In life, the drive for financial security or doing something that is perceived to be stable and secure can knock out the rightful place of what our hearts wish us to do for work. Following our passion can be often be seen as the hard road, the road paved with challenge and poverty. It doesn’t have to be that way though, and people sometimes forget that it doesn’t have to be so black and white either. For example, a healthcare professional working as a psychologist with children with behavioural challenges is good at her job, but she is always looking over her shoulder to the artist she could have been. A good bridge between the two could be an exploration of art therapy for her clients, a space where she gets to help other people paint and is able to create an art related environment around her for part of the time. If we realise that the path opens up along the way, we don’t put so much pressure to get directly from here to that place where everything is amazing and how we want it, then we start creating the smaller opportunities that can pave the way for bigger things.

If you are not sure what lights you up, there are the following ways to recognise and identify what your passion is:
· What do you fill your space with?
· What do you fill your time with?
· How do gain energy? If something is valuable to you, you will gain energy doing it
· What do you always find energy for?
· What do you spend your money on?
· Where are you most disciplined, reliable and focused?
· What are you thinking about actually coming true?
· What are your daydreams about?
Some steps to move into fresh new energy:
· De-clutter and have a clear out – a freshly cleaned environment can signal to your brain that things are changing for the better
· Move into what you may fear as a challenge. Embrace it and as you do, it will transform into something amazing
· Find reasons to be grateful today
· Cognitively prime your brain by doing something towards your goals every single day
· Visualise obstacles and overcoming them
· You become what you think about all day every day. Train your brain by expanding the time you spend thinking about your future wants and wishes
